Delete your account

You can have your Kiliworld account, and everything stored against it, permanently deleted at any time. There is no charge and no waiting list, and you do not need to give a reason.

How to request deletion

Sending from the account's own address is how we verify the request. If you no longer have access to that mailbox, write to us anyway from any address and we will find another way to confirm the account is yours before deleting anything — we will not delete an account on an unverified request, because doing so would let anyone destroy someone else's account.

How long it takes

• We confirm receipt and act on the request within 30 days, and normally within a few days.
• Your sign-in sessions are revoked as part of the deletion, so every device you were signed in on is signed out.
• Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. To play multiplayer again afterwards you would create a new account.

What gets deleted

Everything we hold that is tied to your account:

• your email address;
• your password hash and its salt — we never held the password itself;
• your display name and avatar color;
• your internal account identifier, sign-in method and account creation date;
• every sign-in session record for the account, including the hashed sign-in tokens and the device name, device identifier and platform stored alongside them.

What is not affected, because it was never stored

• Multiplayer games. Rooms exist only in the server's memory and are discarded when the last player leaves — there is no game history or match record to delete.
• Your settings, best time, notes and puzzle in progress. These live on your device, never on our servers. Uninstalling the app removes them; deleting your account does not, and does not need to.

Two things that legitimately outlive the deletion

• Server request logs may still contain the IP address of requests your device made. They are short-lived operational logs that rotate out automatically, are not indexed by account, and are not used to identify you. See section 1.4 of the Privacy Policy.
• Our email correspondence with you about the deletion is kept as the record that we handled your request, as data protection law expects.

If you only want to stop playing

You do not have to delete your account to step away. You can sign out on a device, use log out everywhere in Settings to revoke every signed-in device at once, or simply uninstall the app. In all three cases your account stays as it is and you can sign back in later.
